Joe began his career in the fire service in 2002, first as a Reserve Firefighter for the City of Napa and then in 2005 becoming a career firefighter with the UC Davis Fire Department. Joe was promoted to Engineer in 2011.
Prior to working in the fire service, Joe owned and operated a successful automotive detailing and window tinting business, in downtown Napa. A former fire chief, who was also a customer, told Joe that with his customer service experience and work ethic he would be a good fit for the fire service and he should consider becoming a firefighter. Joe made the transition and started his second career at the UC Davis Fire Department.
Currently Joe is assigned to Truck 34 on C Shift. Joe is also active in the UC Firefighter’s union, IAFF local 4437 and is the current president. He is also a member of the department’s Strategic Planning Team which is responsible for creating and implementing a plan for departmental accreditation.
