Career:
John Hodge

Hired with UC Fire in June of 2005, John is currently an Interim Engineer.  John serves as the primary instructor responsible for maintaining the Emergency Medical Services certifications of UC Fire staff, is a contributing member of the Pre-Fire Plan committee, Vice-President of the Local 4437, and is always willing to step in to assist.  John’s easy-going approach makes it enjoyable for those working with him to accomplish the work and feel good about their efforts at the same time.

Prevention:
TC Smith

TC is one of those employees who comes to work with a smile on her face and a positive attitude to back it up.  TC is someone who not only completes her work assignments on time but goes the extra mile to ensure the job is done correctly and the direct and indirect consequences of her actions are adequately addressed.  Even with a large personal challenge that consumed a lot of TC’s time and energy, TC still managed to keep focused at work, serve on several committees, take classes on her own time, serve as lead investigator on fires at UCDMC and volunteer for assignments that promote the UC Davis Fire Department.  TC is also a member of the Yolo County FIT.

SRFF:
Jonathan Francisco

Jon started with UC Fire in June of 2006.  Jon displays a great work ethic and is very well respected by not only his fellow Student Resident Firefighters, but also by the Career Firefighters.  His leadership abilities helped him earn the promotion to Senior Student Resident Firefighter in July of 2007.  In addition, Jon recently organized the American Cancer Society Relay for Life pancake breakfast at Station 34.  Under his leadership, the breakfast brought in over $3,000 for the American Cancer Society.
