On February 6th UC Davis Fire Department (UCDFD) personnel gathered bags full of valentine decorations and joined our friends at the UC Davis Medical Center for a special crafting event. Fire Engineer Corrie Beall planned and coordinated the event for the second year in a row to bring smiles to kids currently receiving treatment at the UC Davis Children's hospital. Along with making valentines for the kids participating in the craft time, UCDFD fire personnel made cards for others throughout the hospital to be delivered.
The UC Davis Fire Department's (UCDFD) antique Engine 4 found it's way to a new home at the Sacramento Regional Fire Museum in West Sacramento. Engine 4 will be housed in the museum along with other antique apparatuses from Dixon, Fairfield, Winters, Sacramento City and others in this brand new facility. It will be included in a display about the UCDFD's story including information about their programs, history, and memorabilia.
The UC Davis Fire Department is taking the next step in proactive prevention by making Stop the Bleed kits available for on campus departments and highlighting the importance of being prepared for bleeding control.
A fun-filled, educational day focused on all things fire prevention and safety.
