Requirements and Accounts

As part of the program, everyone will complete 24 hours of patient observation with a clinical provider. Our clinical providers all require students'

  • Background check
  • Drug screening
  • Proof of immunizations

To complete these requirements, you will need to create two accounts. Please note that the program cannot refund any account purchases made with third-party vendors such as PreCheck and MyClinicalExchange.

1. PreCheck Account

The attached document contains instructions on how to create your account and complete these requirements. Please create your account now and start working on these requirements.

Health Requirement

  • The due date for these requirements is the first day of class. If you have questions or need assistance with these requirements, please contact Meghan Scannell at mescannell@ucdavis.edu. These will also be discussed in the Clinical Orientation Zoom held before the start of the program.
  • Be sure to review the Mandatory Annual Training Document referenced in the Health Requirements above.

2. Common Spirit MyClinicalExchange Account

As a requirement of Common Spirit, through whom you may complete your hospital observations, you are required to create an account on MyClinicalExchange.com, where you will complete exams and modules.

Create Account

Instructions:

  1. In the upper right-hand corner, click the 'Student' button and select 'Registration' from the drop-down menu.
  2. Choose Create New Account.
  3. Enter your information.

  4. When prompted, enter the following School Enrollment details: 

    • School State: California
    • School: UC Davis
    • Program: EMT (Important: not "Certified EMT," just "EMT")

Notes:

  • The six month subscription is sufficient for this class.
  • Once you have created your account, the Clinical Coordinator must add you to a rotation in MCE for the training modules and exams to become available to you. We cannot add you without a paid subscription, so create your account and then pay the subscription. The Clinical Coordinator will add students periodically as accounts are paid for, leading up to the first day of class.
  • MCE requires a number of training modules and associated exams to be completed. These must be completed prior to the first day of class.
